surprise

As mentioned in my previous post, I have never had a surprise anything before. I am too nosy to be surprised, I guess. But this time, J and our friends at work were able to throw a surprise baby shower for me! Honestly, I didn't have any clue. 

J told me and Kid #1 that we will be having a staycation at a local hotel the next day. That is just fine. Nothing unusual since we have already talked about that several times given how Kid #1 loves staying at hotels. 

So we went to the hotel, with me hoping that I can just lounge and do nothing but eat and sleep. Just as we've stepped in to the room, I told J that I will change into my jammies and officially start the staycation. He told me not to and to just have some pictures taken first. Ok, fine. Whatever. Then somebody knocked on the door and J asked me to open it. My wild guess is that it's a surprise delivery (purse? jewelry? hehehe). But still, I told J I am too lazy and heavy to get off the bed to open the door, can't you just open the door yourself? 

So there, entered our work friends. Greeting me with all smiles while holding the balloons and stuff -- the food, decors and gifts!!!! Awwww...... Just scroll below for some of the pictures. 

I had the sapin-sapin saved for me. Hehe.  They had the cake custom-made . 

These are our well-meaning friends. Honestly, I've met a some of them, I guess, twice? They have more interactions with J. But still they care enough to throw a party for me.

So thankful for these people. For the effort, time and money spent. I wasn't expecting anything, really. Though it is customary here to throw showers, I did not expect to have one for me because, I was not really into those. I know what it takes to have something like that. Even I, I've barely participated to showers. But having experienced people getting out of their way to make you feel special, well, it really made me feel special.

So, thank you. THANK YOU. You made my heart swell.

nuestra señora de guia

we attended another wedding (of a friend) last week. it was inchang and allan's wedding. and it was an emotional one. we didnt get to see her march the aisle. we were late, as usual. but everyone said that most of them were crying. oh well... it was held in malate church, which according to the priest, is a shrine for mama mary, nuestra senora de guia. reception is at nearby rosas garden hotel.

during the traditional church pictorial, tita cora (inchang's mom) was crying. at the reception, she didnt want to give her speech, afraid that she might lose herself (for the nth time). but upon the prodding of inchang, she managed to give a brief speech in between sobs.

in each guest's table, there was a chosen representative who'd give a simple wish/speech for the couple (that's new for me). and there were 2 who gave tearful speeches. and both were friends of inchang. you get where im driving at? to put this in simple words, as what allan's friend has said: " kung ako rin ang nanay ni cynthia, at ikaw ang mapapangasawa ng anak ko, iiyak din ako, allan!" it was meant to be ajoke, but we all know that its true.

i didnt tell this to cynthia, but i told our friends, hinde ako boto ke allan. i feel that cynthia deserves a better man. but if cynthia feels and thinks that allan is that man for her, then all i can do is support her and wish her the best. goodluck!

i didnt write this or say this to break them apart or to discourage them. and if allan gets to read this, who cares? care bears? if he gets to read this, i hope he proves me wrong. i do wish he proves us all wrong.

rommel and donna

as told on my earlier post, a lot has happenned, and this is one of those happy happenings...

pareng rommel (naks) has finally tied the knot. it was held in tagaytay highlands. great view. the theme is luau and the mood of the wedding is very relaxed, thank god. i didn't have to wear a gown and then strain my back while carrying aquim.

from the chapel, you can see the taal volcano, parang pwede mo nang languyin kasi malapit lang. tapos sobrang lamig. it was an afternoon wedding, so foggy na siya talaga and mahangin. muntik na ngang matangay si menggay. hehehe.

sorry na lang kasi wala akong masiyadong magandang shots. mahirap magpicture kung me kasama kang baby. of course, kaming 2 lang ni jason nun, and abay pa si daddy. so siyempre hinde naman ako makakapicture ng me alagang makulit at malikot na baby diba.

by the way, it is the second wedding na na-attend ni baby ko. the first wedding was june and kathy's back in september 2007, when aquim was just one and a half months old.

yesterday, we attended the baptismal (actually, reception na lang, late pa din) of giancarlo cornejo, son of pareng rommel.

it was held sa max's sa me tomas morato. malaki pala max's dun. madaming function halls. tapos parang meron pa silang pond and open area na pwede maglaro ang mga kids. so naisip ni jason baka pwede dun na lang din magbirthday si aquim. kaso malayo siya, so hinde na lang.
anyways, since late kami, wala akong masiyadong maikukuwento tungkol sa binyagan. muntik pa nga kami magkainisan ni jason kasi late kami.

amie and norman

kung ke jun and jaicel, finally. dito para ke amie and norman, finally, finally. these friends of mine have been together since .. eversince. elementary pa ata. me hidden desire na yan sila sa isa't isa. in denial lang. hehe.

sa sobrang tagal na nila, sobrang excited siguro both families, kaya ang haba tuloy ng entourage. 11 pairs of principal sponsors. 4 brides maid, 4 groomsmen, the customery secondary sponsors (i was the cord sponsor), best man and maid of honor, little bride and her escort, and several flower girls. sa dami ng entourage, parang me santa cruzan sa simbahan. hehe. pero makikita naman na they are both love by their families and friends, even if it was a weekday wedding, a lot of people attended the wedding.

maraming kuwento ang wedding na to, ill ask amie first kung pwede isulat dito. hehehe.

in the mean time, extra effort naman sila para magka baby. norman shoud be back to dubai by now. intayin ko na lang good news ni amie kung me little norman/amie na sila.
