old dog, new tricks

So as promised, to revive this blog, here's a summary of one of the drafts that i deemed good enough to share. Some new things about me .... Although of course, the newest would be I will be a mother again, but you already know that :)

~~~
I have learned to be in the front line, Customer Service at its purest form! :) I have been a Sales Associate for 2.5 years. Let's just say that anything that a girl at SM can do, I can do it too.
I am now a proud, legit driver. That makes me feel kind of grown up, don't you think? I don't have to ask J to drive me if I wanted to go somewhere else. I have done whole winter season driving. No accidents, thank, God. Just got caught beating the red light.
I have enrolled in a gym, for 3 months (I know, I know, really not that committed), and went for about 5 times. Fail. I have long accepted that I am not an exercise type of person. Let's not lose hope. Maybe gym is not for me. I can try jogging again. Or swimming.
I have wanted to try Yoga for the longest time. I know, so late, the train has left decades ago. I signed  up and attended to Fall and Winter classes. Don't ask what kind of Yoga. I am just a poser. And breather. Namaste.
Owned a sewing machine and have actually sewn a thing. Or two. I am also doing alterations, of my own clothes. I am not that confident enough to do somebody else's, afraid that I will ruin their clothes.
Set up my own website. Yeah. Website is up for about 3 years but hardly any updates. Let's just leave it at that.
the maggot incident
hay nako.
last week, my husband was able to get the 'letter of apology' that i demanded from the resto that i mentioned on my last post.
juiceko.
when i read the 'letter'. i was dumbfounded. sus. the letter was not addressed to me. it was addressed to the area manager. it seems like the area manager was the one who requested for an explanation and the store manager gave her written explanation about what happened. and she was sorry that it happened. but they are NOT sorry that it happened on us. the letter was printed on a plain office paper. no letterhead. no company insigna.
and the letter was not signed. mygad. i can make and print that letter. and claim that it came from them. and of course, they can deny it.
hmpf. ewan ko. ano bang klaseng mga tao 'to.
i didn't bother na to follow up or to tell them that i am disappointed AGAIN with their customer service. if they can't even send me an apology letter, a correct and sincere one, no wonder they can't run their kitchen effectively at magkaroon ng maggots ang rice namin.
hmpf. talaga.
maggots, anyone?
hi!
so how's me with my new work? so far, so good. so far, so busy. yeah. ganon naman ata talaga. and i think i'm doing pretty adjusting to my new role. pero siyempre, like any newbee, sometimes i feel lost pa rin na tipong i don't know if what i'm doing is right. or sometimes i don't want to do anything at all! heee talk about adjustment noh..
so if you've been visiting my son's blog, you have an idea na how the past few months went. christmas, new year ... there is just one thing na hinde ko pa naikukuwento.
this was the incident that happened last december, before christmas. as usual, a few days before christmas, we were still at the mall doing some sort of pahabol shopping. when we got hungry, we decided na eat at this certain restaurant. it's not naman a fine dining resto, pero hinde rin naman ka-level ng jolibee, so i, we expected better service and food diba. and we are frequent diners na rin naman of this resto.
so we ordered. when the first 2 dishes came, talagang gutom na talaga kami. when the bowls of rice came, we smelled some stinky odor. the kind of odor coming from rotten seafood? yeah, that's it. we thought that it came from their salad bar, wherein they have raw seafood. kasi it came just as a swift whiff of odor lang eh. we asked for utensils kaso natagalan magserve ng utensils.
my brother in law (BIL), tried to eat up the rice using other means. when.. to his horror, there was a maggot on his rice!!! he showed it to us and we immediately called the attention of the server and asked her to call her manager. while the manager is being called, we saw another maggot outside the same rice bowl. this time, it was my husband who saw it, kasi my BIL passed na the rice to my husband because my husband is sitting near the aisle.
when the manager came, we showed her the rice and the maggots and she immediately get the bowl of rice from us and left. too bad, we didn't get the chance to take some pictures, pero i swear there were maggots.
the manager came back giving us another bowl of rice. this time, i was really pissed off. she just grabbed the rice from, didn't say anthing, she just left us without a word and here she comes offering us just a replacement for the rice?
we told her we wont be eating and we are not going to pay for our order. she said ok, pasensiya na po. sabi ko, can you please just explain why that thing is in our rice? she said it's still being investigated in the kitchen why there were maggots on the rice.
i asked for a complaint form or a feedback form, told her i want to formally document this incident. she said they don't have any of those and if ever, they will just call me to update me about the result of their 'investigation' on the incident.
she told, sige po we'll investigate. she gave her name and number and got my number also.
if we were really not that hungry, i could have stay longer there discussing my points etc. kaya lang i'm thinking about aquim, hinde pa kumakain and gutom na rin kami talaga. we waited about 3o minutes and then hinde ka pa makakain?
so we transferred to another resto. and returned to the mall. then i received a call from the resto's manager telling me that they can't find other maggots in their kitchen and they still wonder why there is a maggot in the rice.
i told her so where did the maggot came? do you think we put it there just to have an issue here? sabi ko, did you smell the bowl, the actual bowl where we found the maggot? didn't you smell its awful odor? i told her, most probably your bowls/plates are dirty because when my BIL and husband smelled their hands, it smelled awful too, just like the smell of a rotten seafood. i told her maybe the one incharge in releasing of rice, didn't make sure that he/she is using clean dishes.
sabi nya, naku hinde na po. thank you po at sinabi nyo, sige po iinvestigate uli naman.
sabi ko, okay fine. pero i will definitely write this in my blog. and will tell everyone i know about this incident.
sabi nya, naku wag naman ma'am. i hope hinde kayo madala na kumain sa amin. and with that, iinvite po sana namin kayo to visit us again. to show you na that incident is just a first and that, our resto is clean, etc. sabi ko, hay nako. we are thinking nga if we're going to eat pa in any of your resto. i don't care if it's the first time that happened, pero, man, definitely there is negligence on your part to let that thing happen.
she accepted it and told me na isasanction daw yung mga nasa kitchen, etc. sabi ko i don't care kahit anong gawin nyo sa empleyado nyo, basta ako i want to make sure that this thing is reported to your management, the higher management.
and then i demanded for a letter of apology and/or letter of explanation why that thing happen. she told that they are not allowed to issue such documents and instead she gave me the number of their area manager.
the next morning, the area manager called and apologized and said the same insane thing. ako rin, i said the same thing and asked for the letter of apology/explanation. she told she'll give me feedback. later that day, she called again and informed me that the letter can be picked from their branch where the incident happen na daw.
e that was december24 na noh, siyempre i didnt bother to get the letter na kasi christmas na. sabi ko sa next time na pagpunta na lang namin dun sa mall na yun.
eh kaso mo nga siyempre madaming family gatherings pag christmas, pag new year and then i started working na, so hinde na ko nakapunta sa mall na yun.
i'm thinking kung andon pa nga yung letter, one month or so na ang lumipas. sana andon pa.
and i'm thinking if the offer of free meal still stands heee.. pero hinde pa rin naman kami kakain dun noh! sabi ko nga sa husband ko, if ever we accepted their offer of free meal, does that mean that i''ll forgive and forget what happened? sabi nya oo daw. sabi ko, e kaya lang naman ako kakain dun kasi i want to see if nagbago na sila heeee.. palusot pa.
baket kaya sila ganon?
i am in the series of asking questions, so please bear with me...
the other night, i was leafing through the latest preview magazine and i chanced upon this ad for the new samsung phone (forgot what model). i'm not particulary interested with the phone, but what made me notice it was one of its features, it says that it runs in Windows Mobile 6.1 professional.
my atom exec runs in windows mobile 5.0 ( i think), the then-latest version of windows mobile, so i was quite surprise to know that there is already a new version.
so i then switched to microsoft site, to learn more about the new version and to see if i can upgrade to it. but when i logged on the microsoft mobile site, there is still no link for an upgrade. still the old links i see everytime i visit the site. so i think, why not visit the 02 site to see if they have something to offer about this.
lo and behold, when i tune in to their site, this is what is saw. apparently, my atom exec is now one of their DISCONTINUED PRODUCTS. what the f...
okay, fine. no problem if they will no longer offer atom exec. i don't mind. but what's the catch? verbatim: Discontinued products have limited support. Please note that repair is subject to availability of parts. No swaps.
EH SINO BA ME SABING I-DISCONTINUE NILA YUNG PRODUCT!!!! BAKET BA SILA GAGAWA-GAWA NG PRODUCT, IBEBENTA NILA TAPOS IDIDISCONTINUE NILA TAPOS LALAGYAN LAGYAN NILA NG LIMITED SUPPORT???? PANO NAMAN KAMING MGA NAUTO NILANG BUMILI NG LETSENG PHONE NA TO!!!! PANO KUNG MAGKAPROBLEMA KAMI, KANYA KANYA NA LANG KAMI NG PUNTA SA GREENHILLS???!!!!
hayy.. nakakainis talaga.. grrrrr.... although i am still quite satisfied with my phone, and so far, after 18 months of using it, i still haven't encountered any problem with it, save for its battery life, nakakainis lang na ganon ang post-sales services nila...
what does a poor consumer do after learning this, wala. e di hope and pray that the atom exec won't fail me. that it won't break up on me. not until i'm satisfied with its service. this phone should serve me up to the last cent that i paid for it. huh! this phone could have bought me one designer bag huh!
now i'm thinking if i should have bought HP or palm. hmm.. i don't have plans of buying another phone or pdaphone per se. wala pang budget.
so ano na ngayon, atom EX-ec na ang phone ko? or atom EK-EK?
